Privacy policy

What we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how to get a copy or have it corrected.

Last updated: 9 August 2026

Auto Mechanical Solutions Pty. Ltd., ABN 16 613 256 081, trading as Auto Mechanical Solutions.

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

1. What we collect

  • Your name, phone number and email address
  • Your address, where we need it for an invoice
  • Vehicle details: registration, make, model, VIN, odometer reading
  • Service and repair history for your vehicle, including our notes and photos of the work
  • Quotes, invoices and payment records
  • Your correspondence with us — calls, texts, emails and messages

We do not collect sensitive information, and we do not store full card numbers.

2. How we collect it

  • Directly from you, in person, by phone, by SMS or by email
  • Through our online booking system, which is operated by Repairy
  • From the vehicle itself, when we read its diagnostic systems

3. Why we collect it

  • To book your vehicle in and contact you about it
  • To quote, carry out and invoice the work
  • To keep a service history so future work is done properly
  • To order the right parts for your vehicle
  • To honour warranty on work we have done
  • To send you service reminders, and from time to time news about the workshop
  • To show examples of our work on this website and on social media, using photographs from which registration numbers have been removed
  • To meet our record-keeping obligations

4. Service reminders and marketing

We send service reminders by SMS and email, and we may send occasional marketing the same way. These are sent on our behalf by Repairy.

Every message includes an opt-out instruction. Reply as the message describes and we will stop sending them. You will still hear from us about work currently booked or in progress — those are not marketing messages.

5. The systems we use

We do not sell your information. It is held in, or passes through, these systems:

  • Workshop Software — our job cards, service history and customer records
  • Repairy — online bookings, service reminders and marketing messages
  • Xero — invoicing and accounts
  • Till Payments — card payments

Beyond those, we share your information only where we need to: with parts suppliers to order the correct part, with specialist subcontractors where a job needs work we do not do in-house, with our accountant, with our insurer if there is a claim, and where the law requires it.

6. This website

This website has no contact forms and does not ask you to create an account. Clicking “Book now” takes you to Repairy; calling or emailing us uses your own phone or mail app.

We do not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels or any other advertising or analytics tracking on this site. If that changes, this section will be updated first.

Our contact section embeds a Google Map. Loading it sends your IP address, browser details and the address of the page to Google, which may associate the visit with your Google account if you are signed in to one.

The site also loads fonts from Google Fonts and its CSS framework from a content delivery network. Those providers receive your IP address as part of serving those files.

7. Storing and securing your information

Customer and vehicle records are held in Workshop Software, which hosts and secures the database. Nobody outside the workshop has access to it.

8. How long we keep it

We keep service and invoice records for as long as we need them to support warranty claims, answer questions about work we have done, and meet our tax and record-keeping obligations.

Where we no longer need information for any of those purposes, we destroy it or de-identify it.

9. Overseas storage

Some of the providers listed in section 5 are cloud services and may store or back up data outside Australia. Where they do, they remain bound by their own privacy obligations and, where the Privacy Act applies, by the Australian Privacy Principles.

10. Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Call or email and we will help. We may need to confirm who you are first. There is no charge for making a request.

11. Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your information, contact us on the details below. We will look into it and respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The current version is always the one on this page.
